Local attorney indicted for forgery, fraud, theft

An Oahu grand jury indicted local attorney Robert Chapman on 22 felony counts related to a forgery scheme that allegedly enabled him to gain control over a deceased Honolulu resident’s estate as well as nearly $750,000 intended for bequeathal to three charitable organizations.

Chapman is the former managing director of the law firm Clay Chapman Iwamura Pulice and Nervell.

The indictment, dated June 20, identifies the offenses as first-degree identity theft, first-degree forgery, first-degree theft and unauthorized possession of confidential personal information…
