BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — On January 27, 2022 14-year-old Angel Berumen was hit-and-killed by a pickup truck while skateboarding to school on Niles Street in east Bakersfield.
Detectives arrested five people in connection with the accident, and alleged cover-up of the evidence. Since then, the case has been in limbo for three years, not even making it to its preliminary hearing.
That changed Wednesday, when the five were indicted by a grand jury.“I feel very grateful that, we’ve kind of went in the direction where we can move forward a little bit quicker.
