Driver allegedly drank half gallon of vodka before arrest

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – An Evansville man is behind bars after allegedly drinking a half gallon of vodka and being way over the BAC limit before his arrest.

According to an affidavit, on Friday at about 4:14 p.m., an EPD sergeant saw a pickup truck driving above the speed limit and later going through a red light at Maryland and St. Joseph Avenue.

Two other officers were able to stop the truck near Michigan Street and Bell Avenue. The driver was identified as Nicholas Collins. Collins reportedly told the officer that “he may as well as arrest him because he was drunk”, and that he had about a half gallon of vodka when asked how much he drank…
