A Major Apartment Complex Is Planned for this North Austin Location

A 369-unit apartment project called Aspire at Big is officially on the books for 1100 E Braker Lane in north Austin. Although early site clearing was spotted back in 2024, state filings show construction isn’t scheduled to begin until June 1, 2026, with a projected finish date of June 2027. So what’s coming, and who’s behind it?

What’s Planned for the Site

According to TDLR records, Aspire at Big will include five 4-story residential buildings totaling 369 units. The plan also includes a 4-story amenity center and a 5-story parking garage, bringing the total footprint to 552,954 square feet.

The estimated project cost is $60.3 million. The development will rise on a wooded tract along E Braker Lane near Bluff Bend Drive—wedged between a residential neighborhood and the Buckner Villas senior living campus.

Although the official construction start is still a year away, clearing activity was already visible on Google Street View in April 2024, with brush removal, tree cutting, and fencing along the sidewalk.

History of the Location and Developers

Imagery from as far back as 2002 shows the site was long covered in dense brush and natural growth. No prior structures were built here, making Aspire at Big the first major development on this tract.
