The City of Iowa City will be closing multiple streets and changing transit routes beginning Friday, July 4, through Sunday, July 6, 2025, for the Iowa City Jazz Festival.
The annual jazz festival organized by the Summer of the Arts brings over a dozen of the world’s best jazz musicians to Downtown Iowa City for a three-day music festival. The City’s firework show will take place after 9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 5, on the Pentacrest, following the last performance of the day.
Road closures and parking impacts
The following roads will be closed for the festival at 6 a.m. on Friday, July 4, and will reopen late night Sunday, July 6:
- Clinton Street from Jefferson Street to Washington Street
- Iowa Avenue from Clinton Street to Dubuque Street
Though the road will remain open to traffic, there will be no public parking available on Dubuque Street from Jefferson Street to Iowa Avenue during this time.
Please note that North Madison Street from Washington to Jefferson, and West Iowa Avenue from South Riverside Drive to the Pentacrest, will be closed to traffic right before, during, and immediately after the fireworks show…
