‘Incredible journey’: Popular Green Bay bakery closing after 27 years of making memories with the community

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A difficult decision has been made by a longstanding and popular bakery in Green Bay, to close its doors for good after 27 years of creating memories with the community.

Early Saturday morning, Bake My Day, on Green Bay’s East Mason Street, announced that at 1 p.m. on June 28, they will be closing their doors for good.

The Facebook post, written by current owner Katie Graap, addressed to family, friends, and the community, begins by Katie describing the gratitude she has for the community.

“After 27 wonderful years, Bake My Day will be closing its doors today. It has been an incredible journey, and we are deeply grateful for your support and love over the years,” Katie states in the post. “For the past 7 years, I have had the privilege of running the bakery, following in my mother’s footsteps. Her creativity and passion for baking have been the heart and soul of Bake My Day, and it has been a labor of love to continue her legacy.”

Katie’s mother, Joan Mitchell, opened Bake My Day in 1999 after spending decades baking cakes for the Green Bay community.
