Budget deficit could result in pausing plan to add SAPD officers

City Council members are adamantly opposed to raising the city property tax rate to help close a multimillion-dollar hole in the budget.

A tax increase was one solution that City Manager Erik Walsh proposed Friday to closing the nearly $173 million deficit the city faces over the next two fiscal years.
