A 62-year-old man was arrested Saturday after as his vehicle exited State Route 101 in Olympia and struck a pedestrian standing in the roadway, the Washington State Patrol said.
The pedestrian, identified as 42-year-old Alyssa Acord of Spokane, was hit by a Honda Civic as it exited onto Black Lake Boulevard from the southbound highway, according to a WSP memo to the media. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
WSP trooper Shannon McKenzie told The News Tribune that the man behind the wheel was booked into the Thurston County Jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide and DUI. Drugs or alcohol were believed to be involved in the crash, according to the memo…
