PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Officials are investigating after what began as a police welfare check resulted in a man’s death in North Portland late Friday night.
Just after 10 p.m., officers responded to a request for a welfare check on a man at his home in the 8500 block of North Argyle Way
The caller reported the man was “acting in a concerning manner, flooding his apartment with water and hanging knives out of his apartment window,” police said.

After arriving at the apartment, officers said they had to give the man CPR and requested aid from paramedics who had already been called to wait nearby…
