No home for the 50th State Fair ends in this year’s cancellation

HONOLULU (Island News) — The 50th State Fair officially won’t be bringing the fun this summer for thousands of visitors and residents from across the islands this summer.

Time has run out for E.K. Fernandez Shows, Inc. to find a new venue for the 50th State Fair, after losing its home at Aloha Stadium to redevelopment.

“It’s a part of Americana that people enjoy and the people of Hawaii should have it,” said E.K. Fernandez Shows, Inc. President Scott Fernandez. “I mean, otherwise, you got to get on a plane. You got to fly to Disneyland or another state fairgrounds, and that’s expensive.” >…
