ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Klamath Falls Falcons (16-3) picked up their second win at the Alaska 529 Midseason Classic by defeating the Chugiak Mustangs (13-2) at Mulcahy Stadium. P.J. Safford tossed a complete game, picking up his first win on the hill this summer.
The Falcons earned a run in the bottom of the first inning when, after a leadoff single from Max Price followed by another base hit from Conner Shively, Jacoby Tacchini hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Price. The Falcons added another run in the second inning off an RBI single from Price.
The Mustangs scored a run in the third inning when Tyler Cage hit a sacrifice fly. But the wheels came off the wagon for Chugiak in the fourth inning when the pitching staff combined for six walks, allowing five runs.
