Versailles nonprofit undergoes change as cafe closes doors

VERSAILLES, Ky. (FOX 56) — After six years and over 90,500 meals, the Spark Community Cafe closed its doors on Saturday as the group works to find a more feasible way to serve those suffering from food insecurity in Woodford County.

“We are actively working to secure a new space where we can continue preparing our home-made, oven-ready meals for direct delivery to individuals and families facing food insecurity throughout Woodford County,” the nonprofit wrote on Facebook Thursday. “Our goal remains simple: to feed more people, more efficiently, using the resources we have.”

Spark staff wrote that they will honor any catering commitments, with leaders hoping to continue providing that service in the future to patrons and local businesses.
