Little Rock program aims to stop domestic violence before it turns deadly

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Founded in 1998, the Little Rock Police Department’s Victim Services Program has supported countless residents affected by violent crimes.

From sexual assault to homicide, the program provides critical care to those in crisis, but domestic violence survivors make up the majority of those served.

“When there’s a disturbance, we get the call. We get on scene immediately,” said Officer Katina Hatley. “We separate both parties to mitigate any further disturbance.”…
