Man faces charges after Sterling theft

A 30-year-old Oregon, Ill., man faces charges after Aarons Leasing and Rental reported a theft, according to a news release from Sterling Police.

On May 10, shortly before 3:45 p.m., Sterling Police Department Officers, received a theft report from Aarons Leasing and Rental. The Sterling Police Department Detective Division began an investigation into the matter.

On June 24, Jacob A. Jones was charged in Whiteside County Court for theft over $500 – Class 3 felony (one count), forgery Class 3 Felony (one count), and Identity theft – Class 2 felony (one count.)

Jones, who is not in custody, has an upcoming court date in connection with the incident. No further information will be disseminated by the Sterling Police Department…
