Ticket-Taker Turned Victim in Wild DC Street Robbery

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man was arrested Thursday in connection with a broad daylight robbery that targeted a city parking officer on L Street in Northwest, police said.

On Wednesday around 3 p.m., the suspect allegedly approached a Department of Public Works Parking Enforcement Officer who was writing a parking ticket in the 2500 block of L Street NW, then grabbed the officer’s government-issued device and fled on foot.

The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Maylin Carranza-Garcia of Annandale, Va., was taken into custody the following day and charged with robbery (snatch), according to the Metropolitan Police Department…
