More than 7k customers affected in North Shore power outage

HONOLULU (KHON2) — According to Hawaiian Electric’s power outage map, nearly 8,000 customers on Oahu’s North Shore are without power.

The outage started just after 12:15 p.m. In the initial report, HECO said that power was estimated to be restored around 2 p.m.

While the cause of the outage is unavailable at this time, HECO said the following areas are affected:

  • Haleiwa
  • Kahuku
  • Kawailoa
  • Makaha
  • Mokuleia
  • Pupukea
  • Sunset Beach
  • Wahiawa
  • Waialua
