Ohio school ranked among nation’s most affordable colleges

ELYRIA, Ohio — Lorain County Community College has been recognized as one of the nation’s most affordable colleges, landing in the top 10% of institutions for low net price, according to a new report by the U.S. Department of Education’s College Affordability and Transparency Center.

The college’s net price — which factors in tuition, books, fees, living expenses and subtracts grants and scholarships — was calculated at $4,397. That’s far below the national average of $13,065 for similar colleges.

“Higher education can transform lives, and cost should never be a barrier,” LCCC President Marcia J. Ballinger said in a press release. “LCCC’s low tuition, strong student support and hands-on earn and learn programs open the door for everyone to build a better future and achieve family-sustaining careers.”…
