Guilford County teacher charged with trafficking fentanyl

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A teacher at a Guilford County middle school is among the two people charged after a drug bust, according to the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.

On Wednesday, the Guilford County Narcotics Task Force and Rowan County Sheriff’s Office concluded a narcotics investigation that led to around 1,250 grams of fentanyl being seized.

As a result of the investigation, 32-year-old Saadia Marie-Denise Owen was charged with:

  • Two counts of felony Level 3 trafficking fentanyl
  • Felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for the keeping or selling of controlled substances

Investigators say that Owen was a teacher at Southern Guilford Middle School at the time of her arrest. She is currently listed as an “EC ELA Teacher” in the Southern Guilford Middle School staff directory.

Owen is being held under a $3 million bond in the Rowan County Detention Center…
