PCSO tracks down, arrests 2 men for thefts

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office tracked down two men who fled from deputies during a theft.

Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas said on June 17, at 12:340 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person at a residence on Pike County Road 7714. There were two suspects who fled into the woods when deputies arrived, Thomas said. Deputies tracked the suspects through the woods, but lost contact with them on a road two miles into Montgomery County.

Thomas said deputies continued to work leads and developed suspects in the case. Garry Leonard Sanderson, 53, Hope Hull, has been arrested and charged with first-degree theft of property and third-degree burglary.
