JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) -Although Sunday has started off with clear skies across the area, scattered showers and storms will move in later in the day. This will help keep temperatures in the lower 90s with heat index values below the triple digits for most of the area.
The beginning of next week will bring our best chance for showers and storms. Widespread heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected through mid-week. That will keep highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. Rain coverage is expected to die down for the Fourth of July, with only isolated storms in the afternoon. This will also allow temperatures to warm back into the mid-90s, causing heat index values above triple digits. The feels-like temperature could approach 110 at times next weekend…
