In an instant, they were gone. Mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, friends.

In all, San Antonio’s flash floods claimed 13 lives. In the predawn darkness on June 12, raging creeks turned into rivers, and roads became traps. At daylight, the city’s wounds were laid bare.
