A Portland woman accused of throwing one knife at officers and threatening them with a second knife at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office is being held on a federal felony charge.
Julie Winters, 46, was one of three people arrested Tuesday during ongoing demonstrations at the South Portland office to protest President Trump’s immigration policies. The two others face federal misdemeanor charges and were released.
Winters, who was wearing a mask covered in a mosaic of metallic tiles, pulled a large knife from her backpack and waved it at federal officers around 11:15 p.m., a criminal complaint alleges.
