Marietta Man Charged with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl Linked to Mexico-Based Cartel

A Marietta man, identified as 29-year-old Rodrigo Morales-Figueroa, is facing federal charges after a federal court appearance last Monday, for alleged possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, authorities said.

In a collaborative effort that underscores the depth of the drug epidemic bridging national borders, officials swiftly acted to halt the flow of fentanyl from a Mexico-based drug trafficking organization into Georgia, the seizure resulted in the interception of ten kilograms of the lethal opioid cleverly concealed within car batteries; the arrest of Morales-Figueroa is a stark reminder of the drug’s unyielding grip on communities.
