Several companies are eyeing Gaston County for expansions, including an India-based pharmaceutical company and a Chinese company that produces capsules for vitamins and medications.
The Gaston County Board of Commissioners approved incentive grants for four different economic development projects in Tuesday evening’s meeting.
The first company has been working with the Gaston County Economic Development Commission for “quite a while,” Assistant Director Alisha Summey said. The company, an Indian pharmaceutical company, is eyeing the Oaks Logistic Center, a 471,000-square-foot facility in Belmont. The company is considering an $80 million investment. If the company chooses that facility, it will create 386 new jobs, which pay a little above $60,000 per year, Summey said…
