Flooding in Hopkinsville leaves woman trapped in 2 feet of water

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Nearly four inches of rain fell during a brief period Saturday afternoon, with the Hopkinsville Fire Department having to rescue a woman from a vehicle trapped in flood water.

Around 1 p.m. on June 28, the Hopkinsville Fire Department/EMS was called to the area of North Main Street and Concord where a vehicle was stalled and surrounded by water. According to Payton Rogers with HFD, at the time the water had risen to two feet due to heavy downpours.

Emergency crews located a 69-year-old woman in the vehicle, and she was safely rescued from the water and was evaluated on the scene…
