GRAY’S CREEK, North Carolina — A semi-truck filled with live turkeys collided with a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 near Fayetteville on Highway 87, sending both vehicles crashing off the road and leaving one driver in critical condition, according to CBS 17 and MotorBiscuit.
Pickup pulled in front of semi, police say
The crash occurred late in the evening near Sand Hill Road, where the driver of the pickup truck reportedly turned in front of the oncoming semi, leaving the trucker no time to stop. The resulting impact sent both vehicles nearly 100 yards from the point of collision, according to MotorBiscuit’s report.
Local police have not officially determined who was at fault, though witnesses confirmed that the pickup initiated the turn that led to the crash.
