HUNTSVILLE, AL – Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall announced today the conviction and life sentence of Reginald Eugene Scott, 45, of Huntsville, for Trafficking in Cocaine. The sentencing follows a comprehensive investigation into Scott’s role as a leader and organizer of a regional drug trafficking network with connections across the southeastern United States.
Scott pleaded guilty to a single count of Trafficking in Cocaine, classified as a Class A felony in Alabama. Due to four prior felony drug convictions, he was sentenced to life in prison under the state’s Habitual Felony Offender Act.
The investigation utilized enhanced law enforcement techniques authorized under the “Agent Billy Clardy III Act,” passed in 2023. This legislation permits the use of advanced investigative methods in large-scale drug trafficking cases.
