MNPD: Man dead after being thrown from truck in Thompson Lane/Briley Parkway crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A portion of Thompson Lane/Briley Parkway was closed Sunday afternoon due to a fatal crash involving a speeding driver who went through a red light, Nashville officials said.

A Tennessee Department of Transportation spokesperson announced at 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, June 29 that Briley Parkway was blocked in both directions at East Thompson Lane and Southlake Drive because of a crash.

However, according to TDOT’s SmartWay map, the multi-vehicle crash reported at 2:47 p.m. had closed the eastbound and westbound lanes on State Route 155 — which was listed as Thompson Lane rather than Briley Parkway at that location — near Mashburn Road.
