A stakeout led to a felony drug arrest this past week in Leesburg.
A Leesburg patrol officer was assisting the Leesburg Police Department Narcotics Unit on Tuesday when the officer was informed that an agent had observed a man exiting a suspected drug house and make contact with the occupant of a silver Toyota SUV. The officer was able to follow the vehicle. When the driver of the Toyota saw the officer behind him, he turned into the Montclair Oaks apartment complex, according to an arrest report. The officer initiated a traffic stop and the driver pulled over.

Rogers appeared to be a flight risk and was detained by the officer. Rogers volunteered that he did not have a medical marijuana card. He said he had a “small amount” of marijuana. A search of Rogers produced a baggy with 29 grams of marijuana. The Leesburg officers on the scene then found methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia in Rogers’ car. A traffic records check revealed that Rogers has a total of nine suspensions and two revocations of his driver’s license, which was not valid at the time of this arrest…
