Showers and thunderstorms are moving into northern Arkansas this evening, with some storms near the Missouri border carrying severe warnings. While these storms are expected to weaken some as they move south, we’re still monitoring for pockets of damaging winds and localized flooding, especially where heavy rain repeats over the same areas.
As the evening goes on, storms could hold together as they approach north central and even parts of central Arkansas. Expect periods of heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and frequent lightning. Most storms will struggle to reach far southern Arkansas and should fizzle out overnight. Another round is possible tomorrow afternoon and evening, with highs climbing into the mid-90s.
