HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The City and County of Honolulu is warning the public about a new text and email scam that claims to be from the Department of Motor Vehicles.
City officials said that scammers are posing as the DMV in an attempt to trick residents into giving personal information by demanding payment for “outstanding tolls” or threatening action for unpaid tickets.
