LED fireplace lanterns recalled due to risk of serious injury or death

More than 1,000 LED Fireplace Lanterns are being recalled for posing a serious injury or death from ingestion hazard, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Green Pastures Wholesale is recalling 1,250 battery-operated lanterns because the lithium coin battery in the remote control can be accessed easily by children, posing an ingestion hazard.

When button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns and death, the commission said…
