This beloved Staten Island restaurant just closed after 17 years and customers are showing up to locked doors

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Z-One, a popular upscale diner and bar, has closed its doors after nearly two decades, with owner Steve Osman citing skyrocketing rent as the primary reason.

The final meal at the Bulls Head eatery was served on Sunday, June 29 after the kitchen closed at 9:45 p.m.

“We had this place coming on 20 years. It was a great place and still is. But with our rent increasing to over $50,000 a month and a very high real estate tax, it just didn’t make sense anymore,” said Osman…
