AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The City of Amarillo released its 2024 Water Quality Report on Friday, which included information about the city’s water supply sources, water loss statistics and water composition.
Amarillo’s water supply received a “Superior” rating with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for meeting all required state and federal drinking water standards in 2024.

However, the 2024 Water Quality Report also noted that certain microbial contaminants in drinking water, such as Cryptosporidium, may impact some members of the community more than others. Infants, some older peopled and immunocompromised people may be more at risk from infections, and are advised to seek advice about drinking water sources from physicians and health care providers.
