N’West Iowa prepares for potential measles cases

REGIONAL—Although there are no confirmed measles cases in N’West Iowa, with six cases in Iowa and more than 1,200 across 36 states in the United States, health officials say it important to be prepared and protected.

Teri Bos, director of Community Health Services for Sioux County based in Orange City, said the best way to prevent measles is by receiving the MMR vaccine, which combines measles, mumps and rubella.

“The best precaution anybody can take is check on their MMR vaccination status and get vaccinated,” Bos said…
