More than 2,500 drivers along the Lake Michigan shoreline in Wisconsin were warned of “rapidly changing” road conditions on Monday morning as dense fog spread across the area.

The National Weather Service (NWS) office in Green Bay, Wisconsin, issued a dense fog advisory on early Monday morning. The advisory will remain in effect until 1 p.m. CT on Monday afternoon. Dense fog could reduce visibility to less than one mile, and in some instances, to only several hundred feet, the warning said.

The fog was expected to develop along Lake Michigan waters from Sturgeon Bay to Sheboygan. Low visibility will make driving difficult.
