Day 2 of the Medgar Evers 100th birthday celebration

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Hundreds of Jackson residents gathered to celebrate what would have been Medgar Evers’ 100th birthday at the Jackson Convention Complex Center. Saturday was the second day of the event, where a variety of civil rights activist spoke on a panel to discuss their experiences fighting for equality.

The day started with family reflection, with Reena Evers-Everette, the daughter of Medgar Evers, and attorneys Corrie Cockrell Carter and Courtney Cockrell, the great nieces of Medgar Evers.
