New Orleans Police Department Seeks Public’s Help to Locate Suspect Accused of Illegal Use of Weapons on General De Gaulle Drive

The New Orleans Police Department is seeking assistance from the public to locate a suspect wanted for the illegal use of weapons. The individual identified as Victor Michael Jackson, a Black male born on August 22, 1990, with a height of 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 160 pounds, is the person authorities are trying to find.

According to the NOPD, the incident in question took place in the early hours last Saturday, on the 2600 block of General De Gaulle Drive. It is reported that Jackson was involved in an altercation with another, still unidentified suspect. The disagreement escalated when the unidentified individual pulled out a handgun and shot Jackson, fortunately resulting only in a non-life-threatening injury. Jackson is then alleged to have left the scene to quickly obtain his own firearm, return, and to then open fire, discharging at least one round.

Officials have confirmed that a warrant has been issued for Jackson’s arrest. The NOPD has released an image of the wanted man and is urging anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to come forward. The public is reminded to exercise caution and not to approach suspects who might be armed and dangerous…
