Another bar fight in San Antonio leads to woman’s injury in shooting, SAPD says

For the third time in a month, the San Antonio Police Department is investigating a shooting that stemmed from an altercation at a local bar that left one woman shot in the leg.

On Sunday, June 29, the San Antonio Police Department responded to a call for a shooting from a bar at the 500 block of Live Oak Street at about 1:51 a.m., according to a preliminary report. When officers arrived on-scene, they found a woman, 21, inside the courtyard area on the ground with a gunshot wound to “her lower extremity.”

SAPD was told by staff at the bar that “two large fights” erupted around closing time. As security at the bar attempted to break up the fights, someone in the melee fired a shot, according to the report, which struck the woman. Following the shot, the large crowd left the bar into the streets and eventually left the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries…
