EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — As the Fourth of July approaches, Tri-State dispatchers are facing a surge in calls about loud noises.
The confusion between fireworks and gunshots has led to misplaced 911 calls, dispatchers told 44News.
“9-11… yea I was just outside in my front yard and I thought I heard somebody firing a gun and I’m not sure if I did but it did not sound like fireworks,” said one caller…
