PLYMOUTH TWP. — After nearly three decades, investigators have identified a man whose skeletal remains were discovered in a Plymouth Township field in 1997.
The remains, wrapped in carpet in a wooded area near the railroad tracks off Plymouth and Haggerty roads, belong to Benjamin Harrison Fountain, a Detroit man born in 1926 and drafted to serve in World War II.
His death, authorities say, was the result of a head injury and ruled a homicide…
