Cigarette tax increases by 200%, into effect July 1

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — As many state laws will go into effect on July 1, one law will impact many smokers in Indiana.

The tax hike affects all tobacco products, including vapes, e-cigarettes, and chewing tobacco.

Now, the tax on cigarettes will go from nearly $1 to around $3, a 200% increase.
