Bullitt County man charged with murder in Pioneer Village shooting

SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — A 34-year-old man has been charged with murder after Pioneer Village police were dispatched to an early morning shooting on Sunday, June 29.

Kentucky State Police said that around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, the Pioneer Village Police Department requested troopers’ assistance following a deadly shooting at a Pioneer Trail home.

According to Trooper Scotty Sharp, the deceased was identified as 33-year-old Aaron Welker. He’d been shot in the head.

When authorities arrived, Kent Russell, 34, was on the scene. After an interview, Sharp said that Russell was charged with murder and lodged in the Bullitt County Detention Center…
