Crofton Woman Indicted for Allegedly Stealing Over $185,000 in Two Separate Theft Schemes

A Crofton woman has been indicted on felony theft charges following an investigation that uncovered two alleged schemes involving the misappropriation of more than $185,000 from her employers.

Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced that the Anne Arundel County Grand Jury returned two indictments against a 55-year-old Crofton resident. The charges stem from investigations conducted by the Fraud and Corruption Unit of the Attorney General’s Criminal Division.

The first indictment alleges that, while employed as an office manager at a home improvement and general contracting company, the defendant stole 96 checks between August 2017 and January 2021.
