Sharon Owens’ historic win comes with a somber reminder: Being Syracuse’s mayor isn’t easy
With a resounding victory over her two Democratic primary opponents — Common Councilors Pat Hogan and Chol Majok — Sharon Owens vaulted to a commanding lead in the race for Syracuse mayor. She vowed to continue campaigning hard until the general election in November, but in a city dominated by Democrats, Owens will be hard to beat. In the general election, Owens will face up to three opponents.
