Rockwall County officials have announced a series of lane closures on IH 30 that are about to put a wrench in the works for anyone traveling through the area between June 29 and July 2.
Closures are set to begin on Sunday, with the eastbound left lane from FM 548 to FM 2642 being shut down overnight from 9 PM to 5 AM, due to bridge activities at FM 35 and Sabine Creek. The same stretch in the westbound direction will also see closures. These interruptions are scheduled not only to inconvenience drivers overnight but also are expected to disrupt regular traffic flow during the day, with a few U-turn closures and daytime operations, including flagging at FM 548 for drainage work, and embankment and removals along the 30 Eastbound Frontage Road from SH 205 to T L Townsend Dr, from 9 AM to 3 PM.
Monday’s commuters will need to be especially vigilant as they navigate these changes. The John King East to West U-turn will be closed from 9 AM to 3 PM for bridge activities, and the West to East U-turn will be undergoing the same treatment during the same hours.
