Des Peres officers caught a man as he was trying to steal copper wiring from the city’s new public safety building currently under construction.
Luster Dunn, 32, of the 4800 block of Margaretta Avenue in north St. Louis, was charged June 18 with a felony for second-degree burglary, according to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. He is being held on $10,000 bond.
Dunn entered the Des Peres Public Safety building, 1000 N. Ballas Road, at about 12:20 a.m. on June 18. Once inside the engine bay area, Dunn took wiring spools and placed them in a trash can. He took power tools and chargers and placed them outside the building, according to Des Peres officers…
