ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — With the Fourth of July around the corner, the City of Albuquerque is inviting the community to celebrate at Balloon Fiesta Park on Friday from 3 to 10 p.m.

The annual Freedom Fourth celebration features music, local grub, activities for kids, and fireworks. Country-pop artist Hunter Hayes is headlining. The city is also offering free park-and-ride from the Northwest Transit Center and Coronado Center.
For those planning celebrations at home, the city reminds people to keep in mind the fire danger. “We’ve already been fighting some fires on the bosque,” said City of Albuquerque Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Matthew Whelan. “So it really is a good idea to let the professionals do it.”
