N.J. duo found guilty in ‘vigilante’ killing of 17-year-old boy after robbery spree

Jurors convicted a man and a woman of murder in the death of a teenager two years ago over what prosecutors say was a response to a series of robberies in Newark, authorities said Tuesday.

Felicia Bynum, 51, and James Headen, 33, were proven to have shot and killed 17-year-old Kiman Mays, who was one of three people inside a stolen Lexus SUV used in the robberies, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Mays, a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene. The car’s driver, 29-year-old Lonnell Carruthers, was wounded, prosecutors said…
