Goose Creek man arrested for holding children at gunpoint, killing dog: Police

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — A Goose Creek man is in custody Tuesday after police said he held his children at gunpoint and shot and killed their family dog overnight in North Charleston.

The incident happened at an apartment complex in the 6500 block of Dorchester Road around 12:30 a.m., according to the North Charleston Police Department.

Authorities said that a juvenile told officers that his father — later identified as 30-year-old Chavas Rhodes — came into their apartment through an unlocked door and allegedly threatened to kill them…
